Qinghai is renowned for its magnificent and majestic natural scenery on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. It boasts golden seas of flowers, dazzling snow-capped mountains, and emerald waters that resemble seas. The well-known Qinghai Lake, China’s largest inland saltwater lake, attracts numerous tourists every July and August with its vast fields of blooming rapeseed flowers. Sanjiangyuan in Qinghai, which means "source of three rivers", is home to the headwaters of the Yangtze, Yellow and Lancang rivers, with the latter being known as the Mekong once it leaves Chinese territory. Qinghai is a region where multiple ethnic groups reside, including the Han, Tibetan, Hui, Mongol, Tu, and Salar. Each group contributes its unique customs and traditions, creating a rich and distinct cultural tapestry.
