Welcome to Yan'an

Yan'an, abbreviated as "Yan", is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Shaanxi Province and a provincial sub-center city. It is located in the northern part of Shaanxi Province, in the middle reaches of the Yellow River, and in the central and southern part of the Loess Plateau. The total area of the city is 37,000 square kilometers. In 2023, the permanent resident population of Yan'an was 2.2614 million.Yan'an is one of the three major national education bases for patriotism, revolutionary traditions, and the Yan'an Spirit. It is a national historical and cultural city, the sacred land of the Chinese revolution, the cradle of the Chinese nation, and an excellent tourist city in China. There are 8,545 historical sites and 445 revolutionary sites within Yan'an, including 168 in the urban area and 277 in the counties and districts. There are 40 national key cultural relics protection units, 211 provincial key cultural relics protection units, and 68,995 cultural relics in the collection.
